Conversely, for orders destined for online stores or wholesale channels where shelf display is not a priority, clients often opt for simple, open-ended plastic bags.

For premium presentation, we offer small kraft paper boxes or clear PVC boxes; these provide a more refined look, making them ideal for boutique orders or direct-to-consumer sales. We can also include foam inserts—often used for high-end claw clips—to enhance the unboxing experience.

Packaging for bulk orders is generally more streamlined: items are bagged individually and then placed into partitioned cartons to prevent the clips from scratching each other during shipping. Complex retail packaging is unnecessary if the goods are being shipped directly to a warehouse.

Why acetate works well for hair claws

Acetate sheet comes in a huge range of patterns — tortoiseshell, marble, solid colors, glitter mixes, translucent ones. A factory usually keeps dozens of sheet colors in stock and can source more from suppliers in Italy or China if you want something specific. The material itself is thick, glossy, holds a good bite tension, and doesn't feel cheap like plastic injection-molded claws do.

How it's actually made

The shape gets cut out — either by CNC or by hand with templates for smaller runs. Then it's the slow part: hand-sanding and buffing every edge and surface until it's smooth and shiny. This polishing step is why acetate takes longer than injection molding. A simple claw clip might go through 4-5 rounds of sanding before it's ready.

Can they customize it?

Pretty much everything: length, tooth count, spring tension, color combos (some factories layer two acetate sheets together for a two-tone look), engraving or laser-cut logos on the surface, even mixing acetate with metal spring mechanisms for a stronger grip. If you send a reference photo or sketch, most factories will quote you a sample within a week or two.

One thing to watch for

Not every "acetate" factory actually cuts from real cellulose acetate sheet — some cut cheaper acrylic or resin and just call it acetate because it looks similar. Ask for a material spec sheet or a sample before ordering in bulk. Real acetate has a slightly warm, slightly heavier feel compared to acrylic, and it won't have that sharp plastic smell when you heat the edge slightly during polishing.

What actually causes dents

Tension. Not the clip itself.
If you're pulling hair back tight before clipping, that's where the crease comes from. The clip just holds whatever shape you created. Wear it loose and relaxed, the dent is barely there.
Metal clips with narrow teeth are the real culprits. One thin edge pressing into hair for six hours — that leaves a mark.
A smooth acetate spring clip doesn't have teeth. Nothing to dig in. That's the difference.

How long does the crease last

For most people, 10 to 20 minutes after taking it out. Run your fingers through, maybe flip your hair upside down and shake it. Usually gone.
Fine or freshly washed hair bounces back faster. Thick or product-heavy hair holds the shape longer.
